Friday Five: Hasty Edition

Whoops! I have been in a family-induced haze these few days, with the July 4 holiday and taking time off while relatives are visiting. So I literally lost track of what day it was!

So rather than make you guys wait even one minute longer for the five, I'll dig up an oldie:

Today, what are you:

1. Wearing: Nothin! Okay, some jewelry.

2. Reading: Blogs. Later, catching up on magazines.

3. Eating: Thin Mints. A proper breakfast (likely English muffins) will come later, though.

4. Doing: Nothin! Later, jobhunting, laundry, reducing the volume of stuff in my life.

5. Pondering: Weekend plans...

Sounds cute and comfy! I presume when you called from the car later you had a different outfit :-)...

Thanks so much for reaching out, way to go, and I hope the apps went really well.

I tend towards gratuitous nudity, and it's truly a lovely thing, Mary Beth. Of course, lviing alone save for the cats makes that a lot simpler.

I have two boxes of Thin Mints in the freezer still, Teri. Oh, they are so very good that way...

And yes, there was a costume change, my dearest bishop. Thank you again for your blessing -- I went to fill out applications feeling as if I were fully armored! The first was a bust, they'd already hired someone, but I already have an interview for the second, and a good feeling about it.

It's actually an old folks' home, and I suspect they'll interview anyone who walks in and doesn't walk right back out again. I paused tyo say hello to several of the ladies there (and the birds in the big cage in the main room!) and I just have the feeling that working there could also be a very good ministry for me...

We shall see.

*hugs for you all*

That's cool, I have some fond memories of singing Christmas carols at an old folks' home when I was growing up. That was one of the ministries of the local Knights of Columbus council. Hope it works out for you, whatever "it" may turn out to be in the job realm!

Hm, thin mints, I haven't had those in ages...

It's early Sunday morning now:

1. Wearing: I'm getting ready for bed, 'nuff said.

2. Reading: blogs, yes. Also fun e-mail about IEEE 754R and reproducibility on multicore machines. Nerdy! ;-)

3. Eating: well, drinking -- "Tension Tamer" tea from Celestial Seasonings. Good stuff -- better than Valium ;-P (We watched the latest Michael Moore movie tonight -- good reason for wanting to tame tension...)

4. Doing: getting ready for bed. Or rather, I should be doing that ;-)

5. Pondering: Matlab! and the paper I'm helping to write...

You're very welcome, my dear....so glad it helped, and that the job looks promising. It could indeed be a wonderful ministry for you and I will pray for success on the interview.

Hilbert, I love you dearly, you _are_ a nerd. :) My old SCA group back East used to sing in several old folks homes every Christmas, and we sang some old stuff that they didn't get to hear often (and some old old stuff that they didn't know but enjoyed anyway). It was always a lot of fun.

And I loves me some tension tamer tea. Haven't had it in far too long...
